Modern & Dancemaking: Both classes teach the beauty of storytelling though the body using technical modern dance foundations, movement concepts and individual creativity.
Dancemaking is a pre-choreography class where dancers learn how a dance is made, simple composition, stage directions and elements of improvisation. Young dancers will explore creating their own dance phrase and stories through weekly themes and dance concepts.
Modern technique classes mold the dancers expressiveness and performance qualities connecting warm up, center and across-the-floor exercises with evolving artistry integral to concert dance. Building from simple to complex sequences, each week the dancers will build their technical knowledge, proficiency, alignment, flexibility and physical strength. As dancers progress though each level, standards and curriculum will become more challenging and increasingly complex.
